How to replace volume button

I ripped the flex cable for the volume/ power buttons and I took out the volume buttons. I have placed the new flex cable inside the ipod and placed the volume buttons in place, but after i resembled the ipod the volume button was pushed in when i pushed them. How to i assembly the volume buttons correct?

Hi Vegard,

Your issue could be related to the metal cover of the volume switch cable. See this guide, step 20. Based on your description, it seems that this metal cover is being pushed back while you are pushing the volume button. So, I would check if this metal cover withstands the pressure and sits tight.

Hi steffen. Thanks for your answer.

I tried did but it didn't work. The buttons got pushed inside the ipod again. So i think maybe there is something wrong with either the cable or the metal cover.
