Boot problem but boot sound coming

I have macbook pro mid 2011 i bought in June

My MacBook Pro went I start it up the display is black and it does go bong.

Keyboard working, fan working. I can see Apple logo in centre of screen is not lit

The last three digits of my serial number is: H2G

If you take a flash light and shine it thought the display's Apple logo can you see your desktop (poor mans backlight). If you do the back light circuit is having problems. If you can't see anything do you have access to an external display? If you do do you see your desktop then.

Did you drop or get your system wet? If you didn't is your system still under warranty (AppleCare)? If it is I would recommend bring it into Apple for repair.
