Source for diffuser behind LCD panel

I recently replaced the LCD screen of a friends Macbook Air A1370, but in doing so I scorched the white plastic diffuser immediately behind the LCD panel. I used an SMD heat gun so the hot air was concentrated in the right area but I must have hovered over that area too long. There are 3 sheets between the LCD and back light but only the topmost has been affected. The wrinkle is about 2 inches across the top so it prevents the LCD panel from laying flat after reassembly.

Does anyone have a source for either this top diffuser or the set.

Thanks

Leslie

Did you find any other source other than the guy on eBay?

They are used and the listing says may have dust and marks...

No, but then I really only stumbled across that supplier. You might look at some of the Chinese electronic sites?

Thanks for the lead 'C'.

Yes that is what I was looking for but they are selling a used diffuser set for more than it costs to replace the broken LCD. Its a friends Macbook Air so I think I'll advise he holds off and see's if anything else turns up.

We trimmed the wrinkle back, which left a visible line but that did allow us to reassemble the screen.

Hi - I've been looking for parts on Ebay and found someone who (I think) sells what you're looking for. .

Not sure about posting links, but if you search for "Macbook Air 11" A1370 lcd led screen display back rear reflective sheets 3 pcs" the listing should come right up.

I paid $145 and bought these diffusers with lcd and I totally not recommend anybody to purchase this .. These sheets did not work with precision and I had to order some use broken lcd with frame and brand new lcd and I used sheets from the broken frame and new lcd .. It was way cheaper way $64 lcd and $27 broken lcd with assembly ... Hope this way would work for u as well

Is this the only answer? The place in Texas wants $100 for 3 pieces of differ sheet. That seems a bit high priced. One could by a damaged LCD for around $75 or so on eBay and get the same thing for less. If you have time-the online stores in China sell too.

I might know something but it requires some elbow grease and most likely you won't get these sheets unscathed. These sheets are extremely fragile and even the lightest touch seems to scratch them. Furthermore the top most one (I think it is some kind of fresnel/diffuser sheet) is easily scorched as you mentioned.

What you can do is buy an LCD assembly for a different MacBook (e.g. MacBook 1342) on eBay and remove the black tape at the edge. Carefully lift the LCD and there should be a bunch of sheets behind there. I suppose you could use these as source. You'll need to cut them though which is the reason why I say you will most likely not get it unscathed, but yeah, I believe poorly cut diffuser is better than one that is scorched and doesn't fit well. I'm just trying to figure out how you would want to cut it properly though to minimize the scratches.
