Home button connector strip on ribbon reversed

I have received a replacement iphone 4 button only to find the connector strip is on the reverse side of the home button ribbon to what the original is I am thinking that the replacement button will not work.

Will the connector still make a connection or have I wasted my time?

Removed new home button and refitted old home button. The part I received was different to the part shown on fixit.

yes the connector still makes a connection. have bought from different suppliers and they where all reversed. have a nice repair
