Sim tray doesn't eject

Hi, the sim tray of my nexus 4 doesn't eject. As I try the ejection with the original tool, the tray is barely moving on one side only, but not enough for me to pinch it and try to pull it out.

However, the device is working propertly.

Background: as a traveller, I need to switch my sim twice per week, and did it already 15-20 times flawlessly.

Anything I can try before moving to reparation shop?

Thanks for your support

You can try using a longer tool, like the one that ships with the iPhone. I hope it works out!

I had the same problem....because I cut my "macro" SIM manually!! You can try to insert a very thin tool like a knife into upper side of the try, it worked for me.

I used a nano to micro sim adapter and inserted without the SIM card. BIG mistake. I used the excellent teardown steps here and got down to the SIM card tray where I ejected it partly and could see the bottom pins stuck with the adapter edge. I squeezed in the nano-sim to sit on the tray, pushed the tray back in and now did a proper eject - the tray popped out!

Just do the reverse to put the phone back together - was easy!

%#*@! my Nexus 5 SIM tray got stuck too. No matter how much I push through the hole with SIM tool, it wouldn't budge. On top of that, I broke the SIM tool tip in the hole trying to wiggle it in....Thanks to this thread and the video below, I was able to take the back cover out, access main board, and pull out SIM tray with 4 hands. One hand to hold magnifier, two hands to move the holding clips on each side out, and another hand to pull out tray simultaneously......Now it does pop out when I press through the hole, but rather tightly....Don't know why.....too thick SIM card ???...anyways, I can atleast use a tweezer now....phew!!!
