Hi guys,

Thanks for having me on-board!

I recently replaced the screen on my iPhone 4, on reassemble it worked fine except the screen was activating during calls so I disassembled it again.

A copper piece fell off and I don't know where it came from.

This is where you guys come in! I have attached a few pictures to see if anyone recognises the part and knows if there is a componant I could buy in order to repair the phone. The images are not great and I've lost the part!

To describe the part it's a small hook (2 pronged) like copper piece with a hole for a screw or attachment to go through on the flat piece.

Thanks a lot guys.

Gavin

Thanks for your reply Alissa, I had a look at the pic. It does seem to be that piece alright - it's a 2 piece pronged, gold in colour and seem to remember it falling from that area. Any ideas if it can be replaced or does the entire motherboard need to be replaced?

Thanks

Gavin

Is your phone a 4 or a 4S? On the back does it say A1337 (4) or A1387 (4S)? Cuz if its a 4S it could just be the piece that gets screwed in at the top with one of the screws that holds the motherboard down. If its a 4 you can try re- soldering it to the board...it not you will probably have to get a new board.

Hi Alissa,

The phone is the iPhone 4 so it looks as though I will need a new motherboard as I have lost the part anyway. Any idea where I could buy one?

Thanks

Gavin.

E-bay, craigslist...or if you have a local shop that fixes iphones (not an apple store) you can check there.

Thank you much appreciated!
