Why is the ps3 still have ylod?

I opened up the ps3 with the ifixit tool kit and I replaced the thermal compound, but for some reason it's still in yellow light of death. Please help!

bubbler9797, the YLOD usually requires a lot more than just to replace the thermal paste. The YLOD is generated by cracked solder connections on the CPU/GPU. Follow this guide here for a better result. Even this fix should be considered a temporary fix. A reflow would be a more permanent fix. Hope this helps, good luck.
