Only glass lifts when I go to replace iPhone 3GS digitiser.

I have watched a video tutorial, but I'm having a slight problem. It appears the digitiser has been badly replaced previously, so when I go to pull the sreen away with the suction cup only the glass pulls away and not with the LCD, Please can you help me?

Is there any way around this?
