How to replace screen.

Need the procedure to replace the screen.

This screen was a bit tricky the first time I saw it, and unfortunately you will need a heat gun to avoid cosmetic damage. Otherwise it is exactly the same as replacing most other laptop screens.

Upon first glance it looks like you can just pull the front bezel off, but HP put two screws on the bottom of the display assembly near the logo.

1. Use the heat gun on the black perforated sticker that looks like it is covering the speakers (which might not be in the screen).

2. Slowly pull the sticker back to reveal both screws. (The screws are both about 1-2 inches from the logo)

3. Once the screws are removed you can pry off the front bezel and then remove the screws that mount the back panel to the hinges.

4. Once the back panel is loose you can then remove the 4-8 screws the hold the screen to the hinges.
