at the bottom the prongs are messed up

idk whats wrong with my ipod classic 160gb, the part where i connect the charger at the bottom the prongs are messed up so i bought the headphone charger and it still want come on i dnt get why it still want turn on

shenell, where did you find the headphone charger? I am somewhat surprised by that and really have not seen one. Anyway, if your dock connector has bend or broken pins, you can either try and bend the pins back into position, or solder a new dock connector on the logic board. Otherwise, replace the logic board. That will require good soldering skills and tools, or you should invest in a new logic board

Try charging the ipod in a speaker dock or something similar (one that supports charging).

I've got two iPods with a few pins bent out of shape. They won't charge when connected to the mains, but charge fine when connected to the iMac and on my DAB radio (http://www.magicboxproducts.com/Tower_da...). Hope that helps!
