wont start if it sits for a few hours.

My car is making clicking sound that sounds different than just the battery. When I pumped the gas a couple of times that worked to get it to turn over.

Clicking sound could be from a Relay, possibly fuel pump relay. The pumping of the gas should not be part of this. What engine does it have? What transmission? How many miles and last tune up?

Could be a relay, but also could be your starter going out, have you had progressively harder time turning on your vehicle?
