shawn, take a look on here as well as here for more of an explanation. First you want to delete all your temp files etc. Try to start in safemode and open the power properties (right-click the battery / power icon in the notification area, and select "Adjust Power Properties"), and un-check the "Enable Hibernation" box. See if that makes a difference. This is more of a software OS problem then a hardware issue. hope this helps, good luck

thank you but here's the thing, i cant get anywhere. no cursor no ability to do anything other than hit buttons like f2 or f12 for reboot option and info. i cliked on first link you sent using my home cpu of course and that seems like i'd have to open it with my acer. How do i link up my acer or how do i save that fix and upload to acer?

Can you get into safe mode? Do you have an external or internal drive? Can you get into your BIOS and check your boot order?

yes, do believe i can get into boot order. im totally clueless with this stuff. first window shows f12 as key for boot, im there. believe internal drive. no disk drive
