Sam Robinson, what are the last three of your serial number? That will help to identify exactly which iMac you have.

Hello and thanks for responding. Last three digits are vuv or VUV

Does this help?? Thanks for your response....

All of the Intel iMac's other than the new super Thin '12/'13 models use the same method of mounting the foot. Don't forget you still need a iMac to VESA adapter to then mount the iMac to the VESA wall or rail stand.

Sorry, but your last three do not come back as an iMac. This is not to question Dan's advice or answer, just to keep things neat and tidy ;-)

Hi OldTurkeu03 that is really strange you say that as my serial number definitely starts with a W and ends with ABOVUV. Also, the latch system doesn;t seem to work on this version. I think it is basically the first intel Imac and it doesn't seem to have the 'latch' at the back. Do i need to dismantle the whole display to remove..?

It is a 2.16 GHZ Intel Core Duo 2

any help would be hugely appreciated..... thanks

You'll need to pop the latch spring using a thin plastic ruler or tool between the foot and the case. Once you've done that you'll have access to the screws to remove the foot.

Here is a vid for the cinima display which uses the same design YouTube - Sand removal

Here's the needed VESA kit installation vid YouTube - VESA kit

Hi Dan,

I have tried this literally a thousand times, i can't find the latch.... is there any chance that this version didn't have the latch..? If so how would you remove the back..? any ideas...?

Thanks

It's a bit tricky, thats why I pointed you to the vids so you can see how. Can't say for sure here as all of the units I've done had the screws. Give the VESA kit supplier a call maybe they can tell you if your system is one that didn't have a removable stand.
