StickitRickit, did anything happen to your Acer? Why do you think that this is a BIOS issue??

by

ummm still around turkey? I dont think anything specifically. I just hoped it was a bios issue. I changed the RAM one day. May have been the wrong RAM. IT was a 5300s 2gb chip. Then a couple weeks go by without noticing any performance increase or decrease. My friend comes over all lit and dumb and pulls the acer off its desk and !FLOP! to the floor it went. It was still on and running fine. It worked for a few more days but I notice the performance is lacking moderately since it fell. I open it up to check the RAM chip is still in place and it was, put it back together and here i am. I may have pulled a lil tiny wire lose that connect momma board to the screen. but i cant imagine its my fault. i opened the thing up sooooo many times learning on it. thanks and sorry it takes me so long. i pay attention if you comment back now

Thats easy:

get 3309.fd from e.g.

http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-95127...

rename it to ZG5IA.FD and put it on an USB-stick.

Switch your ZG5 off, put the USB-stick into the slot at the left side.

press "FN" + "ESC", keep it pressed;

press "Power ON"

release "FN" + "ESC"

Power LED will blink for 1/2 min. wait until stop blinking.

after that: switch off ZG5, pull out USB-Stick;

Power ON: yuppi!

Got to acer drivers and manual section and find your acer laptop through its model number and download the bios for your laptop. when you open the folder you downloaded there will be a folder named "dos" open it and copy the files "FLASHIT" and the file with either a ".bin " or ".fn" extension, for example "P4LJ0112.bin" to a flash drive formatted in either FAT or FAT32 extension.

*Plug your laptop to a power source

  • plug in the flash drive with the files in it to the laptop
  • Press and hold the FN + ESC keys and press the power on button
  • when the laptop powers on press and hold the FN + ESC keys for 7 seconds and let it go
  • The Power button will start to flash leave it as it, will take about 10-20 minutes
  • If the laptop turns it self off after, remove the flash drive and power it on.

You should have your laptop up and running again.
