External Speaker is not working. Headphones work fine.

I replaced the power, volume up down cable on the Ipod touch 4th generation. Since then the external speaker does not work. Plugging in to the headphone jack works fine. I tested with another internal speaker and got the same results. The only thing I have done so far is unplug the headphone jack from the board to see if the iPod thought headphones were plugged in. Does anybody have any other suggestions?

Thanks,

The external speaker is soldered on to the motherboard. One of the wires might have pulled out of the solder when you took out the motherboard to put the part in. It has happened to me. Try checking the connections under the motherboard for the wires.

I did try that and no change. I even hooked another speaker to the solder points.
