Disconnect battery before replacing screen?
Shouldn't the first step in the LCD screen replacement guide be to disconnect the internal battery so as not to damage the logic board?

I'd recommend disconnecting the battery prior to any repair. You don't want any current flowing when you are working on electronics. The guide should definitely be updated to note that all power should be disconnected prior to repair attempts.
