iPhone battery will not charge when drained.

Mmm I think I've got exactly the same problem, I tried to disconnect cable 4, but it doesn't seem to have changed anything… The battery was yet in good state, with a quick charging and a good duration. I can't believe it got out of order in one single draining out ! I can't even turn my IPhone on again ! Any idea ?

does it charge on an AC charger? It is possible that you battery has failed.

no, the problem is exactly as mentioned above : the screen remains with the red indicator for low battery and varies from the pictogram of a flash to the pictogram of an AC charger with an arrow to the flash…

Can I hope to fix it by replacing the battery ? simply disconnecting cable 4 doesn't change anything…

Possibly, and definitely the first step that I would be taking. Also make sure that you dock connector is clean, no broken, corroded or bend pins. The way I would proceed is, new battery, check dock connector, check charging and USB fuse, check PMIC.
