4 Mot / 4/ 40000003: HDD - 1412 Error?

After a bit of research i have narrowed the problem/Error down to either the HDD needs to be replaced or the Optical Drive Fan

What type of compatible replacement for the Optical Drive Fan of a iMac 11 3 (27") intel core i3, are there and where can one buy such a part online or in South Africa?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Has the hard drive been replaced. This is a hard drive fan that your machine thinks is running too fast. The hard drives in this machine have proprietary Apple heat sensors and will cause fan speed problems if replaced with other than an Apple equipped hard drive.

Hi thank you for the response, but no the HDD has not been replaced, the iMac is actually still stock standard, I have tho opened up the mac once to clean out dust particles as I have had the mac now for two years and initially thought that it might have just been dust stuck in the fan, so what do you suggest I do ?
