Damaged copper piece- Logic board= flickering screen?

I changed the home button on my iphone 4 using the guide here, but noticed the little thin copper dohicky broke off when putting everything back together.

I was able to put it in place and made sure it was touching the metal bezel, but I now get a white/grey flickering screen as soon as I try to turn it on. :-( Could this be the cause of this flickering?

I think the home button is working fine because holding the power and home buttons allows me to turn it off again.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

A picture of your dohicky would help because on the 4 GSM its hard to guess what that might be, but here's the bad new's, usually when your symptoms are present after a home button replacement it means the LCD was bent or slightly flexed during the removal while prying it away from the frame, it doesn't take much, so sadly you need to replace that now, https://www.gounlock.com/search.php?prod..., good luck, If this Answer is helpful please remember to return and mark it Accepted

That is for your wifi, wont affect your screen, as long as your wifi works when its back together you got it back together right.

I guess I'll have to buy a replacement LCD and hope for the best. Thanks for your help Mitch!

Glad to help, and again, be so careful when pulling the screen assembly away from the mid frame, although it should be easier this time because I doubt if you changed the adhesive that seals the screen down and it wont have as much grab, good luck.
