on and off feature

I found a 3rd generation ipod nano and i cant find a way to turn it off. what do you do?

You need to slide the little button on the bottom of the iPod over so that the red is showing AFTER you have pressed the pause button and the screen has gone black. Otherwise you will continue to use battery power. Don't forget to slide the button back over to show white when you want to use it again.
