Water Damaged Phone not Switching On
I recently (about 2 weeks ago) fell in a pool with my Phone still in my pocket. When I got out the phone was already dead and I immediately wiped it off and put it in rice and left it there for 3/4 days.
I then bought some cleaning benzine, as Isopropyl Alcohol is almost impossible to buy over the counter in my area and it has worked very well in the past with other phones and devices, and started to clean my phone, brushing all the corrosion on all the connectors and submerged the logic board for a few minutes, I also replaced the charging dock connector.
After all the hassle of taking my phone apart and cleaning it and then putting it back together it still doesn't switch on when I put it on charge. Nothing at all happens and I don't have another phone to test the parts with.
What should my next steps be or is the phone totally un-salvageable?
Is this a good question?
just a little update...
When I plug the phone in to the USB on my laptop it sees there is a USB device plugged in as Unrecognized which previously it didn't

another update....
After I re-cleaned the logic board by removing the covers this time and soaking it for 30minutes it's now picking up on the usb, but I still have no display or back-light on the LCD. At least I can back it up now
