device doenst charge after water damage

I got a iphone 4 sprint (CDMA) with water damage, and when put on charge the screen would flash the apple symbol but go no further. An attempt to repair it with simple "strip, scrub and reassemble" tactics didnt work, now nothing happens when I put it on charge. Tried a new battery but nothing happens.

I know how to repair the iphone 4 gsm power management ic, but i dont know what to try next with the cdma version. Suggestions?

Options

Change the dock connector. They are extremely cheap to repair and really easy.
