Why my PSP shorts out when I plug in the Mem Card?

So a couple months ago, I dropped my PSP from about a 6 foot height (not on purpose, of course). It turned back on just fine, but when I inserted the SD Memory Card back in, the psp just shut off/shorted out. Everything else seems to work fine. I can turn it on, charge it and all that wonderful stuff. But once I plug in the memory card... Can someone tell me what is going on and how I can fix it? Much obliged.
