My computer is saying it cant read the disk on my iPod.

What do I do if the disk on my ipod cant be read by my computer? It said the disk cant be read nor recieve music.

Craige, you did not tell us exactly which iPod you have. Try to place it in diagnostic mode. Check that your hold switch is off by sliding the switch away from the headphone jack. You should not see any orange. Toggle it on and off to be safe. Press and hold the "Menu" and "Select Center Button" simultaneously for approximately 10 seconds to reset the iPod.The Apple logo will appear and you should feel the hard drive spinning up. Now press and hold "REW" and "Select Center Button". You should now be in Diagnostic Mode. Run those test and see what they tell you about your hard drive. It is possible that your hard drive has failed. Here is some great explanation about what those test mean. If your hard drive has failed, it may be time to replace it.
