How do I fix an iPod Touch that is freezing repeatedly?

I have had this Ipod for less than a year. In the last month or so it froze unexpectedly. I reset it using the power and home keys and it restarted, got to the lock screen, and froze again. After repeating this several times to no avail I plugged it in and tried to reset it again and by doing this it will let me in. However, this is a great nuisence considering I do not carry a cord and computer with me. It has also on occasion got into this continuos loop of turing on, going to the loading screen, freezing, then shutting off. I have tried restoring it after which, the problem dissapeared for a day or two then it acted up again. There has not been any obvious water damage or drops. Please Help.

Maybe your iPod has a setting which seems to be refusing a download, or trying to fight a computer virus? Have you lately opened any unknown emails?

This might be a long shot, but did you happen to install any apps just before it started freezing up? If you did, maybe delete those apps off or restore it, but don't sync those particular apps.
