I bought Nintendo3DS and can not remember old password I want to delete the old one and put in one I know I can remember. How do I remember the old password

Enter a password, any password, several times till it tells you that you need to call tech support.
Then call the number and they will give you a specific code that is generated daily they say and it will unlock and clear your device.
I have had to do this three times...
