iPhone 4s-post repair- Won't charge. mic wont work. turns on.
I recently replaced the screen on an iPhone 4s. everything went just dandy. turn it on and the voice memos wont work. also people can't hear me when i call them. so the mic essentially doesn't work.
when i plug in the charger/usb, it turns on but it won't charge.
i redid the take apart and reassembly to make sure everything looked fine. the sync charge port ribbon was somewhat loose it seemed but i got it to click and it was secure. and i placed the shield over it. also every pin and wire looked perfect on the charge port ribbon.
I checked underneath the speaker assembly to make sure there was no damage to the charge port ribbon/mic.
the mic for the speaker phone on top works fine.
i reinstalled the motherboard to make sure everything was grounded correctly.
I really don't think it is a damaged dock connector ribbon cable but i am at a loss here!
thanks for any advice.
Update
I fixed it!
just had to open it up and take off the data cable shield and REALLY make sure that it was popped in correctly. i fidgeted around with it in very small increments till eventually i heard the SNAP! and we are good. charging and voice works.
Is this a good question?
