Homebutton doesnt work after water contact

Hey Guys. First of all, it's possible, that my English is not very perfect. I'm sorry for any mistakes.

I have an iPhone 3G here, which has some problems with its homebutton.

Quite a nice story, it fell in a cup with artificial blood which was used to take a video for school.

The only thing that doesnt work now is the Homebutton.

I opened the iPhone to look where the blood (its a mixture of water and red colour) was.

Which part should I order?

Thank You very much and nice greetings from Germany!

Joe

Joe, the first thing I suggest, is that you clean your phone. Use this guide to get it done. After properly cleaning it, replace the battery (do not reuse a battery that may have been exposed to water) and then reevaluate. Check this guide for your home button repair, if the cleaning should not resolve this issue.

You likely need just a home button flex cable. My 3gs had home button water damage - replaced the button, working fine after that. I got the part from here.

May want to clean it with some alcohol first though, just to clean up the corrosion.
