top case with keyboard and trackpad
Is it possible to take the top case with the keyboard and the trackpad on the A1226 and install it on the A1260?

Yes, you can make that switch but you will lose multiPod Touch capability in the A1260 (the multiPod Touch capability resides in the trackpad and is activated through software).
