DVD/CD drive spits out discs

I purchased some games from POP Cap and attempted to install them on my MAC. I have Snow Leopard 10.6.XX and meet all the requirements per the software. The disc spins for a bit and then fails to install and spits out. The software box says "WIN/MAC CD-ROM SOFTWARE". I tried software that was labeled PC MAC SOFTWARE and got the same result. The drive is fine...I can run all other software just fine. I can watch movies just fine. It's simply not reading the install file on the disc.

Sounds like you might have an older Mac. The CD standard was updated to support double layer disks some of the Macs Super drives don't support these disks.

I would still try a CD/DVD head cleaner (one with a micro brush) to make sure you don't have a dust issue.

Otherwise, you'll need to supply us more details on which Mac you have (can you give us the last four digits of your serial number). Likewise, copy from Profiler the info on 'Disk Burning' and paste it in here. To get to Profiler you can access via the Apple menu icon > About this Mac. Then select 'More Info"
