Won't charge, won't turn on at all

I have an issue with an 8gb 1st gen.

Holding home and power buttons does nothing.

Connecting to computer does nothing.

DFU reset does nothing.

I replaced the battery and nothing.

I am using the same charger with my iPad which works fine.

Doesn't appear to be any liquid damage I can see at all. Very weird stuff.

Any ideas?
