New Battery Won't Charge

I just replaced the battery for my second generation iPod purchased from Ifixit and using the excellent procedures.

The battery I recieved was fully charged and my iPod worked just fine; however the battery ran down and the iPod will not charge it from either the USB port on my PC or from the 110vac outlet.

Any suggestions; perhaps a bad battery?

Thanks,

Sam Ske

Chosen Solution

Well, if this is really a second generation iPod, it's not going to charge from USB. It has a FireWire port on the top- thus no USB capability. You'll need to charge it with a FireWire cable and FireWire charger.

I have two cables, each used to work.

1) USB to iPod

2) Transformer (110 vac) with fire wire interface to iPod

Neither solution works including PC-Fire wire-iPod.

I'm pretty sure there's no way to use USB with the first or second generation iPod. Do you have the iPod listed on the sidebar?
