How to deactivate AE Lock and multiple shots

I believe the camera AE lock "*" is applied and I am unable to deactivate it. Every time I try to click a picture it takes 10 seconds and then multiple shots (7-8 ) are clicked.

I want to deactivate it and fix the shutter speed so that it won't take 10 seconds to click a picture and it takes a single shot instead of multiple shots

Kuljeet, check your manual. Page 75 will tell you how to set Manual exposure etc. as for your multiple pictures, it does sound like you are in drive mode. May be you could try to reset all the settings to default.

Attached image is from the manual and shows how to perform a reset. Just in case you need the manual, download it from here.

Hope this helps, good luck.
