Replacing the display or motherboard

Hi all! I will try to be as much clear as possible and I apologize in advance for my english not very good. :-)

So, I have two smartphones:

- Galaxy Nexus # 1

  • Not working. Probably the cause is due to sea water. Let me explain. I was at sea, I answered a phone call and the front speaker started to not work properly anymore after 30 minutes. I realized that I was still wet from the sea, but it was already too late. After 40 minutes of phone call, the speaker does not work anymore. I have done everything necessary to prevent further damage (dried, put in the rice, etc.), but after a few hours it died.

- Galaxy Nexus # 2

  • fully functional, but the display is broken.

I was thinking of "merge" the two devices to get a working one.

Assuming that the display device # 1 is working, I was wondering if I can use the motherboard (and all of its circuits) of the device # 2 with the display of the first one.

Thank you for your attention. Regards, Mark.
