my screen had a crack in it put it in shop five weeks ago to get fixed an still havnt got it back the man keeps saying he has to wait for the battery to drain because the screen has gone white so he can reboot it is this correct ???

Ipod touches have there battery soldered to the board, So its vary difficult to unplug your battery. Even tho its not required to do a restart.
A simple restart by holding the home + lock buttons should fix this but not every time.
