iPhone 4S Transparent Rear Glass Panel

$29.95

Product code: IF115-004-1

Product Overview

For the best look at your iPhone 4S.

This part only fits the iPhone 4S. It looks great on both white and black iPhones. We have the equivalent product available for the iPhone 4 GSM/AT&T here.

  • Replaces opaque glass rear panel with transparent one to allow you to see your iPhone 4S's internals.
  • Complete with all necessary parts including camera lens, flash diffuser, and bezel.
  • The Pentalobe P2 screwdriver required for installation is available with replacement Phillips screws in our popular Liberation Kit.
  • You may also want to consider getting a nifty screen protector, so that your iPhone can play nice with your keys.

Note: If you have received your panel already and have an issue with blurry pictures or it looks like your lens is scratched, make sure you have removed the very thin protective film that is on the inside. It can be removed with your fingernail. Do not use something metal to take it off. If there is still some residue on the lens, a micro fiber cloth should take it right off.

My Problem

The back glass shattered.

My Fix

Easy repair.

My Advice

After repair I found the same replacement glass later at 1/3 the price of Fix-it. Fix-it has great service and info but sometimes shopping around can save you quite a bit.

My Problem

After countless falls the rear glass cracked. Just couldn't take it any more.

My Fix

Not bad, but I'm concerned the panel wouldn't slide completely on. Maybe a millimeter off. It might just need extra force but it's not that noticeable and the screws tightened OK. Not going to bother until I'm ready to sell it.

My Advice

Not really.

My Problem

Wanted access to my phone and to get rid of the tacit advertisement for the iPhone.

My Fix

Super easy, but the nifty transparent rear glass broke the same day I installed it when I dropped it while showing it off. :-(

Back to advertising for Apple.

My Advice

At least use a bumper case.

My Problem

Now that my warranty had expired I wanted to swap out my back glass for the elegant transparent version. I had been wanting to do this for a while but I didn't want to void my warranty in case something happened to the phone.

My Fix

It wen great!! It took me about 5 minutes and completely changed how my phone looks now.

My Advice

Do it!!!

My Problem

The clear back glass is bada$$. Had to have it, and got rid of the pentalobe screws at the same time.

My Fix

Absolutely painless.

My Advice

DO IT!

My Problem

I dropped my iPhone and cracked the back glass. Replaced it with the transparent back because I was wanted my phone to be different from every other iPhone.

My Fix

Well I started off by ordering the wrong one. Lucky for me ifixit.com has the best customer service I've ever encountered! I would Definitely suggest this to anyone that asked. The actual installation took less then a minute. Anyone would be able to do this fix no problem

My Advice

Make sure you double check to make sure you are ordering the right part for the right phone.

My Problem

i'm from Singapore.. Credit card billing address & delivery address is different. They required me to fill up a form to prevent fraud.

My Fix

I replied via email, my billing address. They responded immediately & sent to my requested delivery address.

Received iphone 4S transparent rear glass panel with crack at the side. Took pictures and sent for advice. They sent a replacement immediately.

My Advice

Their service was excellent. Definitely will order from them again.

My Problem

My iPhone really dislikes being cooped up in the side pocket of my bag, so one day it decided to jump on out of there! It freefell a whole three feet to the wood floor, where the back coverglass sustained a moderate cracking injury. After the fall, I palpated some small shards of glass that were coming loose.

My Fix

Easy peasy! I used my friend's pentalobe screwdriver to remove the old panel and discard the cracked panel in our sharps container at the hospital where I work. I then replaced the rear glass panel with the new one and screwed that sucker in!

My Advice

Know how to remove the rear glass panel before taking the screws out. It took me a little while to get the old panel off. (it slides towards the top of the phone.)

My Problem

My little brother had the audacity to drop my phone and cracked the rear glass!

My Fix

About 37 seconds long.

My Advice

Get the clear back! It looks great, and even if you don't like it, you can put your own custom image behind the glass.

My Problem

I've already used this product once (along with the iPhone 4 liberation kit), and then I dropped my phone for a SECOND time, breaking the rear glass. I immediately returned to iFixit to replace the rear glass.

My Fix

It's extremely easy to fix, but you need a pentalobe driver (or the liberation kit).

My Advice

If you have a 4S, Make sure you order the 4S glass and NOT the 4. However even if you do screw up (as I did) the iFixit folks are really cool about helping you get the right part.
