My Problem
Front panel cracked and headphone jack was dead.
My Fix
Hard and took alot of patience
My Advice
The instructions are good but you really need to remember where everything goes. (NO INTERRUPTIONS)
My Problem
Dropped my iPhone 3g on the pavement, a small crack in the corner. It didn't affect the touch screen, but sure was ugly.
My Fix
The repair went smoothly, the instructions were great. It was difficult to separate the broken glass shards from the plastics, but it only took 15 minutes of careful work with a heat gun and the included spudger. The whole repair took about an hour, there was some difficulty with reconnecting the display cables.
My Advice
Go slowly and take your time working on separating the front panel from the plastics. Make sure you route wires correctly and ensure they are plugged in right.
My Problem
Dropped phone cracked screen
My Fix
Better than I could of expected
My Advice
Change your repair manual. I found you cant use suction cup on cracked glass. I used a piece of packing tape over the cracked glass then it worked like a charm. I suggest you add this step to your repair manual
My Problem
not only did the screen crack again, but after 3 weeks of using it cracked, the touchscreen stopped working
My Fix
It was quick and easy as it was the second time in a short period of time for my wife's phone.
My Advice
If the touchscreen stops working it's very hard to allow the battery to drain as it keeps going into sleep mode, but never swap the parts out if phone is stuck on. Let it drain even if it takes a week
My Problem
Rear panel was twisted
My Fix
Everything perfect, phone works except for the wifi and the gps. I think there is a connector not correctly fixed.
My Advice
The screws of the iphone are so tiny, that it is best to use a magnifying glass
My Problem
Dropped iPhone had a cracked front panel, cheaper to repair than replace. Plus, it's more fun to fix things.
My Fix
Ran into problems when separating the cracked screen from the adhesive, nicked the rubber around the glass panel on the top two corners. Purely cosmetic, not visible when using a case.
My Advice
Be careful not to damage the rubber that surrounds the glass.
