My Problem

Broken screen (digitizer)

My Fix

Went real well, once I had the correct screwdriver..actually needed the Triwing Y00 for the old Galaxy Tab 10.1

My Advice

Order some cleaner at the same time....

My Problem

My computer had been showing the "service battery" warning for a while, and I was experiencing lots of strange power-related problems.

My Fix

Replacing the battery was easy. Using the tools suggested, and following the step-by-step guide, it took me about 5 minutes.

My Advice

Follow the guide. It is easy! Just pay attention to what you are doing, and nothing can go wrong.

My Problem

MacBook Pro, 1st I broke the screen. Then when I put it back together n turned it on, I had broken the LCD screen, then when changing that u totally broke the lcds display cable and my keyboard.. It's too bad u guys don't sell just the keyboard n lvds display cable for MacBook Pro 13" mid 2012, cuz u guys r so prompt with shippin express, I love it! So now my repairs on hold till I get those 2parts shipped to canada from Hong Kong. Had mad issues with stupid applecomponets.com that's made me this delayed on my project, close to a month now. But ya, if I worked slower n more diligently I would've only had to replace my screen, BUT now I was able to pimp my Mac, which is n will b totally worth the wait/tearing my Mac apart.

My Fix

Ongoing..

My Advice

Be slow. Have the right tools. I'm glad this site has screws that come in sets more ur specific product. Such as all for my MacBook. I didn't use the right tools so !@#$ near every one was stripped. Have the right tools needed.

My Problem

My MacBook track pad was acting up. Unable to click, not very responsive to touch.

My Fix

The repair process went smooth thanks for the useful detailed guide and all the tools and accessories provided by iFixit.com.

My Advice

If the track pad just not clickable (or having trouble clicking), just need to readjust the little circle metal underneath the track pad, no need to buy the track pad, unless your track pad is not responsive.

My Problem

Bought original Wii used, but didn't play Wii games, only GC

My Fix

Went well... Actually, I broke the wire connecting the power light and buttons, so I replaced it with the one from my new wii (which is a newer model and doesn't support GC hard/software) because I didn't have a solder gun on me at the time.

My Advice

No need to use the tweezers to disconnect the wire that I mentioned. Just pull it out.

My Problem

My Macbook Pro 15" unibody battery had went completely dead and I couldn't even power my laptop on when it was plugged in.

My Fix

I was so glad that I bought the tools from iFixit along with the battery. The screwdrivers fit perfectly, and there were 3 Tri-wing screws that needed the special screwdriver, so it was great having everything I needed right away!

My Advice

Get the battery and the tools needed here, that way you are not compromising or running to a store to get specialty tools that are tough to find. I hadn't even heard of a tri-wing screwdriver/screw before! The spduger was also nice because it is plastic and doesn't scratch anything that you pry on.

My Problem

Clorox Wipe + Trackpad = No Bueno

My Fix

15 mins start to finish, instructions were on point

My Advice

Keep Clorox Wipes away from your trackpad, kids. And if you don't, ifixit is the place to go

My Problem

My Late 2009 Macbook's (the original white unibody) battery died suddenly last summer. I checked with the local Apple retailer but they charged me almost twice the price of a new battery and they also wanted me to leave the laptop for two or three days at their shop. So I checked for a replacement and I remembered that some years ago I had a new iPod battery from iFixit.

Sadly, back then they had no new batteries for my model, so I had to wait and live off the wall charger for a while. That was frustrating because this is my main computer and I work on the go almost everyday, and not every place has a wall charger.

So when I saw iFixit had batteries for sale again I jumped in.

My Fix

It was fairly easy to replace the battery, I just needed the screwdrivers (I had the Torx and ordered the rare Tri-wing) and a bit of patience. My greatest problem was the upper-left side plastic around one screw of the DVD drive, which didn't let the battery gently slip in. But I removed that screw, ditched the plastic piece and the battery wen it like a charm.

Anyway, I hope Apple go back to easy replaceable batteries. They weren't much larger and they were more practical.

My Advice

Have your screwdrivers in place, take care with the plastic piece of the upper left side and don't misspent your money taking this to a shop. With the iFixit tutorial and tools you can do it and save good money.

My Problem

Silly Tri-Tip screwdrivers, lucky ifixit came to the rescue!

My Fix

Excellently

My Advice

Make sure you order the right battery from Amazon, it's too bad that ifixit doesn't stock batteries for newer Macbook Pro's

My Problem

Still waiting for new fan which you have on back order. Hope you really can get your hands on it.

Will let you know how it goes if and when I can fixit.

Thanks

My Fix

Still going

My Advice

Any way to get an update on back orders of the wii fan?

Enlightenment hopefully will follow.
