This is the set that spawned the repair revolution. We have honed its contents to be both your everyday driver set and your go-to resource for all the security bits needed to open consumer electronics.
Each bit resides in a removable soft plastic block with five friends. The driver body is machined from a single piece of aluminum, with a ball bearing mounted swivel top. The flexible shaft is great for stereo work or other large electronics where all the screws aren’t on the surface. The drive adapter lets you use these specialty bits with any standard ¼” driver handle or most power tools.
When it comes to precision bit sets, there is no better kit. If you want something that looks as elegant as it performs, look no further than the wooden case for the 54 Bit Driver Kit. This case is emblazoned with the Fixers Fist, reminding all the world that we have the right to open our electronics. We believe that repair is noble, and so should you.

I have been having problem with a sticky home button with my 3 year old iPhone 4. Been living with the assistive touch button but find it a nuisance as always. So I started searching for the solution and came up with the fix from iFixit.
Took 2 hours and multiple attempt to readjust the screws and the rear camera as the back case won't fit. Ultimately got the home button repaired and voila!
The 54 bit screw set is a must-have before you pry into the internals of the iPhone. However, do be careful as the magnet of the screwdriver is rather weak and the puny screws are easy to dislodge from the screwdriver. A placemat for screws also help in the organization of the screws

The sound was cutting out on one of the speakers on my Beats Studio Headphones. I figured that it was just a loose wire connection and could be fixed easily. No use going out and buying a new one when you can fix it yourself.
The repair went will. I use the small torx drivers to unscrew the top cover. After taking off the top cover, I was able to gain access to the loose connection and dab some solder on it to hold the connection in place for future use.
Use the flexible extension tool to prevent the chance of stripping the screw heads.

Battery on 13" MacBook Pro indicated "Service Battery". Cost prohibitive from Apple. My old source for batteries was a lot more expensive than ifixit and did not sell the tri-wing drivers needed for the repair.
I ordered the battery and the 54 bit driver kit and it took me about 20 minutes to do the repair (with some distractions as I am a one man IT dept. at a school.
Just disregard that little sticker that says "do not remove battery"! Order the tools and parts from ifixit and just fix it!

Sadly, there was no fixing this problem, but my fancy new bit kit will come in really handy for my subsequent electronics repair projects.
I was still unable to figure out how I can get 30-60 minutes of play time on my GBA SP even though I haven't charged the battery in about 10 years.
I have no idea.

My MacBook's bootable HDD was 'dead'.
I spent some time before realizing that the MacBook would never boot (even from an OS X DVD) if the installed HD had not been formatted for a Mac.
1) I formatted the new HD on another Mac, connecting it as an external HD.
2) I removed the 'dead' HD from the MacBook and replaced it by the newly formatted HD.
3) I booted the MacBox using an OS X DVD.
4) I restored OS X on the new HD using Apple's via-Wifi recovery procedure.
Do not hesitate to use iFixIt to replace a HD.
If you don't have two left hands (actually I am left-handed :-) you should make it.
I received iFix parcel only two days after ordering it on the US site (I leave in Europe). The tools (screwdrivers) are of excellent quality.

erratic cursor movement
Perfect! My version of the MBP was a little different than the model shown in the instruction manual. I expected this and the repair was otherwise flawless. The materials that arrived from ifixit were well packaged and since it arrived on Valentines Day included a small package of candies. Those little touches that make you smile. Could not have had a better experience.
I strongly suggest that anyone who takes on a project like this have the correct screw bits. Apple laptops have an absurd mix of different screw heads and the type and size are not normally found in a mechanics tool box. I purchased a 54 piece bit kit from ifixit and it was a quality item and work perfect.

My macbook pro (early 2013) has some loose screws on the bottom. I could have gone without tightening them but I've always wanted to own a toolkit like this so it was a great excuse to buy some toys!
Great tool kit, a must have for any guy.

Power Supply went out.
easy as pie w/your help iFixIt!!!
The power supply went south on my crappy iMac, it was barely ever used and NEVER moved or near any thing hot. This upset me as I've only had this for a year and a half. bought it from my brother in law who purchased it new 8 months before that but wasn't using it.
Any way the fix was easy with instructions provided online by iFixIt. I recommend the tools even though they're expensive, I often fix PC's so for me these tools will be useful. One thing I did NOT get was a good glass cleaner which is needed for such a task unless you have a dust/static free area. Plus the screws that the Power Supply grab onto were a pain in the rear to get back on!!!
I don't like Apple products and thought I'd give this a chance, now I'm putting Windows 8 w/boot camp and giving this POS to my son. He will make better use of it.
Thank you iFixIt for the tools, hardware and instructions on making this swap easy as pie, took 30 minutes only because of the screws the power supply grab onto.
