My sisters keyboard did not work, namely the keys she most ommonly used so they had been using the on screen keyboard. I thought that was silly so I replaced it as a christmas gift.
The repair went well except after I got the computer most of the way back together i noticed the speaker cable was pinched in the battery bay and had to take it all back apart, reposition the cable and reassemble. Total time about 20 minutes.
Just make sure the wires are all in position before reassembly :)

Took a drink of diet Coke and coughed up on my laptop/ Immediately soaked up what I could. Two hours later, several keys stopped working.
Went well. Hard to keep track of the screws but I did. Took about 2 slow hours.
Try not to spit up on keyboard in the future.

Replaced defective keyboard due to spill (expensive bourbon spill, nonetheless)
Overall, the repair went well. The instructions provided on the iFixit site were detailed, thorough, and nearly flawless. I couldn't have replaced the keyboard without them. There were many more screws than I expected and it took much longer than expected (I'm used to working on Windows laptops), but it all worked in the end.
The only part I had a little trouble with was Step 19, in which the screws that attach the keyboard to the casing are removed. The instructions indicate that the screws are all revealed when the the two protective sheaths are peeled back (Step 18). But in my case, several of the screws were still covered by black sticker dots after the sheaths were peeled back. I figured it out, it just took me a little longer.
