My Problem
The battery in my MacBook Pro wouldn't charge consistently. You'd plug it in and it would charge for a while and then stop charging. I tried another power adapter but it didn't change. So it seemed the I/O board was the next logical link in the chain.
My Fix
The repair is pretty straightforward if you are used to taking apart things like this. Instructions were very good, specifically the location and types of screws to be removed.
Everything is working fine now (the lighting on the keyboard is more consistent too.
My Advice
I recommend getting a muffin baking pan and putting the screws from each step in a separate compartment. Take your time removing the cables and connectors - they are pretty flimsy. Be sure connectors are perfectly aligned before trying to press them back together. It is very easy to bend pins or crack the socket.
My Problem
to hot in the top left of keyboard and back side to, no recharge of battery ,after 10 minutes go to breeze restart no possible.
My Fix
change i/o left board and memory modules ,finally working again after 2 years 3months ,now is running OSX Iion perfect ,And I be to happy.thank very much.
My Advice
before disassembling read carefully the guide .I`m no specialist but I study the guide for months
My Problem
I was told by an apple store that the I/o board had a problem but because they found traces of coffee near the battery lid they didn't repair it for me under the AppleCare warranty I had which was a big shame.
I put this off for a long time but after receiving the parts and sitting down to do it it took me an hour or so to replace it and it fixed the problem straight away. On the origInal i/o board there were three tiny condensors that had burned away but as far as I can see there was no evidence of coffee on this board so I don't think this was caused by spilling coffee at all.
My Fix
Smooth as silk.
My Advice
When you take out screws put them in little bowls or containers you put on a sheet of paper. Write down the step number and use colored markers in the same colour as the guide if you need to make sure you distinguish between different screws.
I only needed to do that in one step and drew colored circles on the paper and put the screws in the respective circles.
Don't be hasty and don't force anything.
