MacBook Battery Connector/Sleep Sensor (Energy Star)

$69.95

Product code: IF186-042
Apple Part #: 922-8275, 922-8276, 922-8244

Product Overview

Connects battery to logic board. Also includes sleep sensor, which detects magnet located in display assembly to automatically put the computer to sleep when the lid is closed.

Note: the ES battery connectors have 2 fewer pins and different spacing than the non-ES models. If you have a Santa Rosa machine (the SR machines have Expose', Dashboard, and media play function buttons on the keyboard), this is the correct part. If have a non-Santa Rosa machine, remove the upper case and check to see if the words "Energy Star" are printed on the board in the second RAM slot.

This connector only works on Core 2 Duo machines that have Energy Star printed on the board and in all Santa Rosa, Penryn, and 2009 plastic MacBooks.

Stories

My Problem

Apple MacBook is not recognizing my battery. The old battery was dead, but it appears the problem was something else. I purchased a new battery and still the Macbook won't recognize the battery. I replaced the battery connector after seeing some posts on IFixIt. The battery still isn't recognized by the Macbook.

My Fix

The repair didn't solve by problem, but on to the next step. Replacing the MagSafe DC board.

My Advice

Not really, just trying to solve my issue.
