Should I replace the thermal paste in MBA?

I got the new baseline macbook air 13". It runs fairly hot - around 70-80C when I watch youtube videos. Will I see a temp decrease if I replace the stock thermal paste with arctic silver 5?

If you just bought a brand new machine and it's running this hot, I would take it back and have it checked, You may void your warranty by operating on it yourself.

Artic Silver has a higher ratio of Silver, therefore conducting heat better. Cheap thermal compounds tend to thin and liquefy.

Also consider shimming the processor. Google common heating problems with your model and research if you are able to shim it using copper.

It is normal to get 70c+ when watching YouTube videos. No need to worry
