Difference between iPhone 4 and 4G Digitizers?

History

Is there a difference between the digitizer and LCD between an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 4 4G? Are all iPhone 4 phones 4G? I'm looking to buy a replacement screen for my iPhone 4, but all the ones I find are being called iPhone 4 4G...will it work as long as it's the AT&T model?

rdburkh , "None of the iPhones on the market support 4G service, which provides faster data connections on mobile phone networks than the standard existing 3G networks. The confusion may stem from the fact that many of these users probably have the iPhone 4, which itself succeeded the third-generation iPhone 3G and 3GS. But the "4" in the name means only that it's the fourth generation of the phone itself, not the service. AT&T(T) and Verizon(V)subscribers can get only 3G data coverage, as indicated by the little "3G" icon in the upper left-hand corner of the phone." from here and many other places. We are using buzzwords to describe a 4th generation iPhone, but it is not a 4G network. Anyhow, you are looking for a digitizer for the 4th generation iPhone. Remember that the LCD and digitizer are fused together, so if you need to replace the touch screen (digitizer, I strongly urge you to purchase the whole display assembly. You can buy individual pieces, but it is virtually impossible to remove the old ones, and most often leads to a broken LCD. They are available right here iPhone 4 Display Assembly (GSM/AT&T) and places like this.Hope this helps, good luck.

Hi,the AT&T Digitizer and CDMA Digitizer are the same, but the clip of the frame are different. And 4S digitizer is difference from At&t and CDMA digitizer, because 4S has a small hole on the digitizer.

The digitizers are all the same. The only difference is in the screen mounting bracket, the spacing of the screws tabs are all different on the 3 different iPhone 4.

Regarding 4G, Apple considers the iPhone 4S to be a 4G capable phone. I think Apple is wrong. But when iPhone 4S on iOS 5.1 achieves optimum through-put the iPhone screen will display 4G next to the Carrier Name.

Vendors will even worse use 4G to mean, any of the 3 different iPhone 4, which is bad. The 3 iPhone 4 are:

iPhone 4 GSM

iPhone 4 CDMA

iPhone 4S

there's a bad batch of iphone 4s lcd assemblies going around, just purchased 5 of them, 3 white 3 black... all 3 black were bad, they don't fit, there's a good extra millimeter at least in thickness difference when you compare them to a good one, if you try to force it down then you'll end up with a white hazy ring around the screen from the pressure put on the LCD, these are OEM lcd's as well (apple on the cable), I bought these locally too, not straight from China on Ebay... makes me nervous about buying any online, atleast locally I can take them back and now check what he gives me for the giant gap between the lcd and the digitizer! If you get one that doesn't fit nicely, that's the problem

the digitizers and LCD are fused together,, Both digitizers are totally the same. iPhone 4 Digitizers are compatible with 4G, vice versa......http://www.prezzydeal.com/lcd-touch-digi...
