My MacBook wont turn on

I got this laptop a few days ago and came with no charger so I got one from the apple store and got home plugged it in and the magsafe charger turned green for about a second and then turned off again and I cant seem to find anything about this anywhere on the internet please help.

Options

You’ll need to clean the MagSafe port of the dirt that tends to collect as well as clean the contacts. See if that solves the problem. If not your system may require it’s logic board repaired.
