Blank screen w/ backlight after replacement - MacBook Air 13"

Hello,

I have a Macbook Air M1 2020 and I have replaced the full display. But after the replacement, the screen does not show anything.

  • I can see that there is a backlight and the screen responds to the brightness control buttons.
  • I can have video when connect it to an external monitor.
  • In System Settings -> Display, the macOS recognizes the built in monitor.
  • The camera is working fine.

Does anyone have an idea if I have missed any step? Or if it can be an hardware issue?

Thank you in advance.

I have this exact same problem. I replaced the display, and it's staying black. The backlight works, it recognizes it when connected to an external display, the camera works, etc. Therefore, I'm fairly sure that the display is connected properly. So I guess that it's just a bad display?
