Options

2nd layer of tape on iMac Screen

I removed the second layer of tape that was on the iMac screen. It's only afterwards I saw in a answered post I wasn't supposed to.the what are my options from this point forward. It was a 3am bright idea. So no putting it back.

Options

The function of the tape is to isolate the displays shield from the case for EMI isolation. I went to a local DIY car store and got 3M 3/4" Black Vinyl Tape - 6415 to fix a customers system. Use the image in Step 24 in this guide iMac Intel 27" Retina 5K Display Display Replacement to help you figure out where to put the tape.

Here’s the image which shows the black tape along the edge where the case comes in contact
