MacBook not turning on, trackpad works a few seconds once in a while.

When i opened my macbook, the screen was black. I can use the trackpad (clicking) for 1-2 seconds sometimes, randomly. Tried resetting everything, power should be going in. Anyone tried this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi Sune,

I would advise you first to try resetting the SMC (System Management Controller), as this may likely be causing the issue.

for more details, refer to this link for instructions.

Did your system have a bang or drop, or get wet somehow? I’ve seen a few systems which reacted similar to your symptoms but the system would turn on and then shutdown on its own due to a bad battery. But you state screen was black which is different.
