iPod won't turn on or off?

My iPod's screen is frozen. It won't turn on/off or anything what could be the problem/solution?

Is the little switch on the top in the "Lock" possition?

Press and hold the middle button and the menu button at the same time. This should perform a hard reset and unfreeze the device.

My iPod has had similar issues in the past, in which even a hard reset would not work. If that is your case, just let it drain itself dead and then charge it back up. You should be good to go then!
