fan at full speed after upgrade ssd

Hi,

I have a problem.

I just installed a ssd with your kit.

After installing the fan runs full speed.

I tried to restore the initial configuration but the fan always runs full speed.

I made the apple hardware test and I got the following error:

4M0T/1/40000002:EXHAUST-0

On Istat the temperatures are correct but will appear in fans "RPM EXHAUST-0 "

Can you help please

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Sounds like you plugged the fan into the wrong header contacts when you re-assembled.

Thank you for the answer, I didn't find an other header where plug the fan contact , and it can be plugged in only one side.

Have you other ideas?

The 2011 iMacs have the temperature sensor inside the HDD itself, so you can only fit the same (Apple specific) model. Another fine easter egg for the self repair person.

I'm not sure, but can the same apply for the newer MacMini models?

Just a thought, did you try resetting the SMC before going back to the HD?

Most add the SSD as a second drive Vs exchanging out the HD. So the HD temp sensor does not become an issue (assuming the newer mini is like the newer iMacs needing special HD drives).

But, that doesn't explain why the fan is running all the time now after re-installing the HD. Try running SMC again now with the HD back in. Any change?

I execuded the following procedure for SMC reset:

But the problem persist.

How I can understand when SMC reset is done?

I suspect that my mac mini isn't resetted.
